Hawkins Parnell Secures Favorable Verdict in Washington Trial

March 19, 2024 – Press Release

March 19, 2024 (Seattle, WA) – Hawkins Parnell & Young trial lawyers Daira Waldenberg and Jennifer Capabianco obtained a favorable verdict for the firm's client in Snohomish County Superior Court in Washington State.

The case arises from a motor vehicle accident where plaintiff claimed to suffer brain, neck, and back injuries as well as a range of serious issues from post-concussive syndrome. The Hawkins Parnell team, along with the client, tried numerous times to reach an amicable resolution to no avail.

After eight days of trial, plaintiff's counsel asked the jury to consider awarding a verdict of $15,000,000. The jury deliberated for under six hours before returning a verdict of only $375,000.

The client stated this was a “fantastic result” and that “Daira's closing was honest and sincere with good common-sense arguments that resonated with the jury."

Daira added, "This was a great team effort. We are fortunate to work with clients who refuse to be bullied in this current environment with outrageous demands driven by headlines of nuclear verdicts."
