Michael J. Hart maintains a dynamic litigation practice. For two decades, Mike has represented businesses and individuals in a wide range of civil litigation matters. His recent practice has concentrated on high-stakes personal injury matters including product liability, premise liability, and mass tort litigation. He regularly represents multinational and Fortune 500 companies in mass tort litigation across the country as part of local and national defense teams.

In addition to personal injury matters, Mike has represented clients in complex commercial disputes, individual lawsuits involving product liability, employment, real estate, and professional malpractice claims. He has also assisted individuals and small businesses with contractual matters and real estate issues.

Mike has personally tried both jury and bench trials. His experience includes proceedings at every level of the Missouri court system as well as matters before administrative tribunals and alternative dispute resolution venues. Mike has handled appeals in state and federal appellate courts.

Mike plays a central role at all stages of litigation, including initial case strategy, written discovery, motion practice, depositions, ADR, settlement negotiation, trial, and appeal. He has appeared at hundreds of depositions, and cross-examined and defended depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, corporate representatives, retained and non-retained experts, and fact witnesses. Mike’s deep litigation experience includes a myriad of pretrial motions, discovery disputes, dispositive motions, and post-trial motions.

Prior to joining Hawkins Parnell in 2019, Mike practiced at two prominent litigation firms in St. Louis. He is proud to be a fourth-generation lawyer.
