Texas Court of Appeals Affirms Verdict in Breach of Contract Trial
February 28, 2019 (Austin, TX) – The Texas Court of Appeals affirmed a verdict in favor of Hawkins Parnell & Young's client, Rocha III Contractors, in a breach of contract case in Caldwell County, Texas. Plaintiff appealed the trial court's verdict on several grounds. Hawkins Parnell argued that the Plaintiff did not meet the requirements to preserve error for appeal and that the appellate court cannot review unpreserved error. The appeals court agreed with this argument entirely, affirming the trial court’s ruling in favor of Rocha III Contractors and ruled that the appellant shall pay all costs relating to the appeal. Taylor Yetter and Amy Welborn of Hawkins Parnell's Austin office represented the client in both the trial and appellate courts.
