August 14, 2019 – Press Release
August 14, 2019 (Atlanta, GA) – Hawkins Parnell & Young partner Bryan Grantham secured a defense verdict in a premises liability case in Fulton County State Court. The plaintiff sued a major national clothing retailer for a fall that resulted in a torn rotator cuff and surgery within a week of the incident. Plaintiff claimed she slipped and fell on a puddle of water in the store. Defendant argued that there was no hazard on the floor that caused the fall. In closing, the plaintiff asked for $300,000 in pain and suffering on top of the $68,000 in medical special damages. After about 90 minutes of deliberations, the jury returned a complete defense verdict.
