Appellate Specialist Rob Gilbreath Helps Preserve Significant Win at Texas Supreme Court
October 20, 2011 (Austin, TX) – Rob Gilbreath was recruited to join a prestigious team of appellate specialists seeking to protect a favorable ruling by the Texas Supreme Court. The case involved breach of a loan agreement, and as a result, the client sustained damages in excess of $20 million. The losing party in the Supreme Court, represented by a former Justice of the Texas Supreme Court, filed a motion for rehearing supported by amicus briefs from several banking organizations. Rob, with input from the existing team, prepared the response to the motion for rehearing. On October 20, 2011, the Texas Supreme Court denied the motion for rehearing. The case will now return to the court of appeals for the client to establish the precise amount of recoverable damages.
