Kimberly D.  Stevens

Biography

Kimberly is an experienced civil trial attorney who represents domestic and international companies in complex business disputes, gig economy litigation, premises and product liability matters, catastrophic injuries, class actions and toxic tort litigation. She previously served as in-house counsel for an energy company representing the parent company, its subsidiaries, employees and officers in civil litigation and providing counsel to the business units. Prior to working as counsel for the energy company, Kimberly worked for one of the “Big Three” American automobile companies as a member of management teams in operations, human resources, and labor negotiations.

Kimberly is licensed in Michigan and Georgia, but has represented clients and managed litigation in federal and state courts in several states, including Alabama, California, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. A portion of her experience includes:

  • Representing one of the world’s leading oil and gas companies against wrongful death, product liability, premises liability, and breach of contract claims;
  • Representing a global manufacturer and marketer of precision instruments in complex multi-million dollar business litigation involving claims of conspiracy to breach fiduciary duties, breach of contract, fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets and proprietary materials, and punitive damages;
  • Representing one of the nation’s fastest growing beverage retailers in premises liability cases;
  • Obtaining a defense jury verdict for a Fortune 50 retailer in a complex premises liability case involving allegations of disabling personal injuries and loss of business profits;
  • Defending $100 million dollar multi-jurisdiction toxic tort claims involving complex and unique theories of liability;
  • Defending the leading North American transport operator in multi-state wrongful death and product liability litigation;
  • Representing businesses and government entities in employment matters in federal and state courts and administrative hearings, involving Title VII, ADA and Section 1983;
  • Defending clients in product liability claims involving, but not limited to commercial carriers, chemicals, asbestos, textiles and consumer products; and
  • Numerous summary judgments for clients on the issues of duty and causation liability.
