E. Tyron Brown and Willie C. Ellis will be participating in ALFA International’s 2016 Construction Practice Group Seminar on July 27-29, 2016.

Ty is a moderator for the panel session, "Privity Exceptions for Claims Against Design Professionals Clarified,” which will clarify the law that applies to a claim by a party against a design professional with whom the party has no privity. Although many states have relaxed the privity requirement and follow the Restatement (Second) of Torts § 552, there are still legal hurdles that apply to the non-privity party’s claim against a design professional, hurdles that may vary depending on whether the case is brought in state or federal court.

Will is a panelist on the session, “High Times—Impact of Changing Marijuana Laws on the Workplace.” This panel brings experienced construction and employment litigators from across the U.S. to discuss how these new state laws complicate workplace matters such as drug testing, safety programs, anti-discrimination laws, and compliance with contract requirements.
