April 30, 2019 (New York, NY) – Hawkins Parnell & Young secured summary judgment in the New York City Asbestos Litigation (NYCAL) on behalf of a Fortune 500 manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

The plaintiff testified that his mesothelioma was caused by exposure to asbestos while working with various brands of heavy-duty trucks. Upon HPY’s cross-examination, the plaintiff revealed he was uncertain of working with vehicles manufactured by the defendant. Justice Manuel Mendez, the coordinating justice of NYCAL, found this admission eliminated any issues of material fact that may have existed.
