Ranelle Meroney will be speaking at The Car Crash Seminar hosted by the University of Texas School of Law on July 28-29, 2016 in Austin, Texas. Ranelle will provide a defense attorney’s perspective in the purpose, analysis and use of medical records in the defense of an auto claim during her section.
The seminar will provide attendees of all experiences levels with in-depth information, including:
- Hear an overview of Texas auto policies, truck wrecks, auto-product liability claims, damages, and more
- Gain practical tips and strategies for plaintiff and defense counsel including working up the case, managing client expectations, negotiating with the insurance adjuster, guidance on the use of medical records, financially affordable ways to try cases, cross-examining witnesses, and persuading the jury
- Review the admissibility of collision reports and how to most effectively use police officer testimony
- Analyze how social media is being mined and the ethical considerations of getting it submitted into evidence
- Examine the role distracted driving plays in a collision and its impact on verdict value
- Learn the ever-changing rules regarding Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, worker’s comp, hospital liens, state and local employees and disability plans
