At Hawkins Parnell & Young, diversity of perspective matters. Different perspectives makes us stronger and our team more effective in the results we achieve for our clients.
Diversity is the power of difference. A diverse law firm is essential for providing our clients with excellent legal services, relating to jurors and litigants, preserving our core principles, and maintaining a rich culture. To develop a sense of pride, passion, and belonging, we focus on hiring, promotion, and education.
As an expression of our firm’s commitment to excellence through diversity in our people, our practice, and our clients, we continually seek to locate, attract, and retain top talent while recognizing the significant benefit of diversity in terms of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and world experience. In promoting and celebrating our people, we recognize the advantage that differences bring to the table and demonstrate that we rely on the uniqueness of each employee to create an environment where everyone can do their best work. We also actively educate the members of our firm about our cultural and other distinctions to foster a workplace that welcomes, supports, and reflects the communities we represent and comprise.
According to the most recent National Association for Law Placement (NALP) Legal Employers survey, HPY meets or exceeds the national diversity averages for law firms of our size. In the Law Firm Gender Index presented by Bloomberg Law, we received an A- rating amongst 1,200 firms in the United States, which used advanced data mining techniques to compare firms and offices against each other on a granular level to determine which firms are actually succeeding in their gender diversity efforts.
Simply stated, our success in attracting and retaining diverse attorneys and staff evidences our commitment to inclusion and diversity.
Having a diverse team has been critical to our success over the past five decades.
