July 19, 2023 (Atlanta, GA) – Alex Barfield has rejoined Hawkins Parnell & Young as a partner in the Atlanta office and a member of the firm's national Labor & Employment practice group. He will litigate and defend claims under state and federal employment laws, advise and counsel employers, and mediate commercial and employment disputes.

Alex returns to the firm after 8 years as a partner and lead litigation counsel at the employment firm Stanton Law, LLC. Before that role, he was at Hawkins Parnell for over 12 years.

Alex has over two decades of advising general counsels and executives on labor and employment issues and defending corporate clients in litigation nationwide. He advises clients on responding to workplace complaints, manages investigations by government agencies, and defends against allegations relating to discrimination, compensation, contracts, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, trade secrets, and privacy.

Alex has successfully represented employers from many different sectors in high-stakes matters, from single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits, class actions, and collective actions to arbitrations and administrative hearings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). He has a proven record of resolving disputes from the onset of administrative agency charges through jury and bench trials in federal and state courts and has won appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Eleventh Circuits.

Alex is licensed in Georgia and California and is a certified mediator in Georgia. He holds a joint JD and MBA from the University of Georgia and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
