Piper v. Pritchard Industries
Plaintiffs were seriously injured when their motorcycle struck a plastic bin while they were traveling at a high rate of speed on I-75 just north of Atlanta. The bin had Defendant company's name printed on it, and Plaintiffs alleged that the Defendants were responsible for leaving the bin in the middle of the highway. One of the Plaintiffs' injuries were particularly serious, including alleged traumatic brain injury (TBI) and requiring significant, lengthy, and expensive medical treatment and significant scarring. Plaintiffs' pre-trial demands never came below $1 million, and in his closing argument at trial, Plaintiffs' attorney asked for a verdict of more than $2.5 million. After a four-day trial, the jury returned a verdict for our client, the Defendant.
